Murry “Joey” Duncan, 45, a Mt. Hermon Special Education teacher has been previously arrested by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for numerous crimes involving juveniles. The crimes, related to Duncan’s role as a teacher and a church volunteer, involved sexual contact with seven different children.
In late May, Sheriff’s Office investigators received a disclosure from another child who claims to have been sexually abused by Duncan inside a school classroom. Forensic interviews conducted by the Sheriff’s Office and the Bogalusa Children’s Advocacy Center disclosed that “Mr. Joey” kept the student in the classroom one day while allowing all the other students to go to gym class. Duncan inappropriately touched the boy and instructed him not to tell anyone.
The boy’s account is similar to accounts from other boys around his own age where Duncan also touched their “private” areas.
A warrant has been obtained for the arrest of Duncan on the new charge of Molestation of a Juvenile. In the near future he will be brought back to Washington Parish from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, arrested and booked on the new charge, then return to Baton Rouge.
