Sheriff's Office Arrest Wanted Fugitive

Larry Donell Smith, 25, a resident of the Hackley community was arrested on May 14 by Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force Officers and detectives.  Assistance was provided by the Walthall County, MS, Sheriff’s Office.

Smith, who also goes by the names Larry Brown and Little Larry, was arrested on Ben Williams Road in the Hackley community for felony auto theft and is a suspect for several other crimes committed in Washington Parish.   He is also wanted in Walthall County for an armed robbery which occurred on May 10.

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office has been seeking Smith and the search was intensified following the armed robbery in the Tylertown area.  Diligent investigative work led to his location and his subsequent arrest.

Sheriff Randy Seal commented on Smith’s arrest.  “Congratulations to our fine officers for removing this dangerous criminal from our community.   Residents of Washington Parish and Walthall County can rest easier knowing he is in jail where he belongs.  I expect he will be looking at the inside of a jail cell for a very long time.”
