Child Predator Arrested On More Charges

Murry J. “Joey” Duncan, 45, a resident of Mt. Hermon, has been held in the Washington Parish Jail since April 16 on charges of Pornography Involving Juveniles and Aggravated Incest, with his bond set at $350,000.

On May 1, Duncan was transferred from the Washington Parish Jail to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he was booked for two counts of Molestation of a Juvenile involving two different children under the age of ten.  These new charges for incidents which occurred in East Baton Rouge Parish are the result of an ongoing investigation by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office where Duncan has been named in numerous complaints as having sexually abused children.

After Duncan was originally arrested in April, complaints continued to come in to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office involving allegations of sexual molestation of other children.  All of the identified victims were residents of Washington Parish, but some of the incidents occurred in other jurisdictions on field trips and at summer camps.  Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating all allegations and received assistance from the Louisiana State Police in obtaining warrants for other parishes.

Currently, Duncan is accused of committing crimes against three separate children; however, the number of charges against Duncan is expected to increase significantly as the Sheriff’s Office continues a forensic investigation of items seized from Duncan’s residence.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal commented, “As this case continues to expand, I am constantly reminded of the obligation to protect our children from sexual predators.  We will continue to do that to the best of our ability and will leave no stone unturned in seeking out and arresting those who exploit our children for sexual or any other purposes. Louisiana law is very specific about such criminal deviant behavior and we will enforce the law.  Mr. Duncan is right where he belongs – in jail – with no access to innocent children.”

If any parent, guardian, teacher or other responsible adult is aware of the possibility of  abuse of any child, they are asked to contact the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 839-3434.
