ALERT PATROL DEPUTY MAKES DRUG ARREST
Late in the afternoon of May 23, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy Jay Dupre made a traffic stop on Holmesville Road in the northwest quadrant of the parish that developed into a drug arrest.
The driver of the vehicle, Miketillies R. Williams, 35, a resident of Tanglewood Drive in Franklinton, was in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and illegal prescription medication. Williams was arrested and transported to the Washington Parish Jail charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substances with a weapon present, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and driving under suspension. Williams remains in jail with his bond set at $50,000.
Items seized from Williams included a .22 caliber rifle, 4.3 grams of methamphetamine, 15.3 grams of marijuana and twenty-one Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills.
Sheriff Randy Seal stated, “Our outstanding patrol deputies are constantly working throughout our parish protecting us from those who would do us harm. In this case, Deputy Dupre not only took illegal drugs off of our streets but also removed a firearm from a convicted felon. Good job!”
