On March 16, 2017, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified about sexual abuse of a minor female. Patrol deputies responded and gathered initial information, then turned the investigation over to the detective division.
After forensic interviews and exams, detectives were able to determine that LaQuincy Donshae Stewart, 20, a resident of Vernon School Road north of Franklinton, had forcibly raped a fourteen year old female. A warrant was obtained for Stewart’s arrest.
On April 26, 2017, Stewart, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is in the Washington Parish Jail charged with two counts of forcible rape. Stewart’s bond has been set at $125,000.
Sheriff Randy Seal commented. “I can’t say enough about the good work of our patrol deputies and detectives. They work hard to solve crimes in our parish and put criminals in jail. While we go about our daily activities of work, school, shopping and whatever else we do, our officers are diligently working to protect us and to solve crimes. This includes the fine jail staff that have to manage the worst segment of our population twenty-four hours per day. Our Sheriff’s Office staff is top-notch.”
Due to the nature of this crime, and to protect the identity of the juvenile, no further information will be provided.
