SHERIFF SEAL ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF TERRY HARRIS TO LIEUTENANT
Sheriff Randy “Country” Seal announces the promotion of veteran officer, Terry Harris to Lieutenant for Criminal Patrol Shift D. Terry replaces retiring officer, Lt Ernie Corkern.
Lt. Harris is a native of Franklinton and a graduate of Franklinton High School and the Slidell Regional Police Academy. Lt. Harris began his career with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2005. In 2010, Lt. Harris was promoted to Shift Sergeant and served in that capacity until 2012 when he was promoted to the Criminal Investigative Division where he handled juvenile crimes, child abuse, thefts, burglaries. In 2014 Sgt. Harris returned to the Patrol Division where his outstanding law enforcement skills were needed.
Lt. Harris holds numerous professional law enforcement certificates including, basis crisis negotiation, arrest, search and seizure, basis law enforcement best practices, tactical police driving, DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Doppler Police Radar, criminal drug interdiction, forensic science, interview and interrogation, and the FEMA National Incident Management System course.
