On July 26, Washington Parish Drug Task Force detectives arrested a father and son who reside on Dillon Road south of Bogalusa. Claude H. Creel, Jr., 60, and Christopher Claude Creel, 40, were placed in the Washington Parish Jail charged with Manufacture/Cultivation of Marijuana and Possession of Schedule One Drugs.
Bond for the elder Creel was set at $30,000. He met conditions of his bond and was released on July 28. Bond for the younger Creel was set at $10,550. At this time he remains in the Washington Parish Jail.
A total of 33 marijuana plants were discovered near the back wood line of the Creel property. A plastic bag containing loose marijuana was recovered from a safe inside the residence. Several marijuana cigarettes and other drugs were recovered from elsewhere in the residence.
Sheriff Randy Seal complimented the Drug Task Force for locating the marijuana plants. “Our Drug Task Ford detectives did their usual excellent job. This case was somewhat unusual in that the Creels were growing the marijuana themselves. It is sad when both a father and son are involved together in the illicit drug business. I’m glad our officers were able to make this arrest and confiscate the plants before the marijuana was harvested and prepared for use.”
