Mississippi Resident Arrested For Washington Parish Thefts

Carey Samuel Gendron, 39, a resident of Old Cross Roads West in Pearl River County, and a former resident of West 7th Street in Bogalusa, is in the Pearl River County Jail awaiting extradition to Washington Parish.  Gendron is a suspect in thefts in both Pearl River County and Washington Parish.

On March 14, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office and Pearl River County detectives located and arrested Carey Samuel Gendron as a result of a joint investigation into a felony theft that occurred on Willa Villa Drive in Bogalusa and a business burglary that occurred in the Cross Roads, Mississippi, area.  Detectives were able to identify Gendron from business security camera footage and from a victim who recognized Gendron’s vehicle from the video.

Detectives from both agencies went to Gendron’s Mississippi residence and arrested him.  While there, Washington Parish detectives searched a wooded area behind the residence and recovered stolen merchandise from the Mississippi business burglary.  Gendron was placed in the Pearl River County Jail charged with burglary.  When he is extradited to Washington Parish, he will be booked into the Washington Parish Jail on felony theft charges.  He could possibly face other charges as a result of the ongoing investigation.

Gendron is no stranger to the Washington Parish Jail.  He was arrested and released on bond on March 4, 2010, charged with Possession of Schedule IV and Schedule III Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Under Suspension.  He was arrested again on November 19, 2010, charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, possession of Schedule II Drugs, and two counts of misdemeanor Failure to Appear.  He was transferred to another correctional facility on May 2, 2011.

“Good arrest!”, stated Sheriff Randy Seal upon hearing the news of Gendron’s capture.  “This is another example of a criminal preying on the citizens of our area who fails to understand that any investigation we do is not limited to our state boundaries.  Many thanks to our investigators for solving these thefts and I appreciate Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison and his fine investigators for working so closely with us on solving these crimes.”
