Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest, Seeks Another Person

On February 11, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of discharge of firearms on Eliza White Road in Angie.  Responding officers searched the area and  discovered a black GMC Denali on Military Road.  The vehicle had several gunshot holes in the front grille, the windshield and the driver’s side rear door.

An initial witness reported hearing the gunshots then observing a dark colored Nissan Altima fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.  The driver of the GMC reported that the dark colored Nissan approached him on the roadway and the came to a stop on Military Road.  Two males exited the Nissan and began firing shots into the GMC.  The driver said he fled from his vehicle and ran into the woods but was able to identify the two males as Tyrell Davon McGowan and another male known to him only as “Bo.”

Detectives located the Nissan Altima on Adams Street in Bogalusa later that evening.  The driver was identified as Tyrell Davon McGowan, 28, a resident of Military Road in Angie.  McGowan was arrested and transported to the Washington Parish Jail.  The investigation continued, eventually identifying the other shooter as Alonzo Traylor, 28, whose last known address was on Jones Creek Road in Varnado.  A warrant was obtained for Traylor and he is being sought at this time for Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Sheriff Randy Seal asks for the public’s help in locating Traylor.  “We need to get this dangerous individual out of our community and into our jail.  We consider him to be armed and dangerous and undeserving to be roaming in Washington Parish or elsewhere.  If you know where Traylor may be located, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 839-3434 and let us know.  It is not necessary to give your name if you call.  If we can locate him, we will make every attempt to arrest him and give him a ride to the jail in the backseat of one of our vehicles.”
