Most small business owners operate on a slim profit margin. They must contend with rent or mortgage payments on their building, insurance, taxes, ever-increasing product costs and numerous other costs before they can make a profit. When customers buy products and then pay with a worthless check, the business owner suffers.
Nineteen persons have been identified as issuing worthless checks to parish businesses. Those persons, their last known address, and the total amount of their worthless checks, are:

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal expressed frustration over the number of back checks being given to parish businesses. “Our parish business owners are trying to make an honest living providing products to parish citizens. Worthless checks hurt them as well as every honest consumer. We have active warrants on each of these individuals and will gladly arrest them and put them in jail. If any person on this list reads this article, I suggest they turn themselves in immediately. Otherwise, we will introduce them to handcuffs when we find them.”
