The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two thieves who might qualify for inclusion in an episode of World’s Dumbest Criminals.
During a residential burglary in the parish, several items were stolen, including an I-Pad. Detective Damon Mitchell learned that the I-Pad had been used by the thieves because of pictures on the owner’s I-Cloud account that were not her or her family. The pictures obviously were uploaded to her I-Cloud account after the I-Pad was stolen. Antonio Dillon and Trinette Lee, who both reside at 30518 Old Columbia Road were identified in the uploaded photographs obviously enjoying their new electronic gadget.
Investigators went to the residence and located the stolen I-pad along with Dillon and Lee. Both were arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Property. Dillon was also charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana and booked on an outstanding attachment. He was released on bond. Lee was also charged with a bench warrant for Failure to Appear and is being held with no bond.
Sheriff Randy Seal commented on the arrests. “Congratulations to Detective Mitchell on a job well done. The I-cloud images were intended to be amusing, but the two thieves were not amused when they walked into the jail with handcuffs on their wrists. We are grateful to them for producing the evidence that led to their own quick arrests. It would be nice if more criminals were that cooperative.”
